Public Laziness

I need to rant for a minute. It always aggravates me whenever I go to the grocery store and I try to turn in to the parking spot but am unable to do so because there is a grocery basket in the middle of the spot. How difficult is it to walk a few extra feet and put it in the cart corral. They are normally pretty close to every parking spot. I don't think it will kill people to do so. Now if it is raining sideways, I understand. Also, if the store does not have a designated spot to put the cart, what else are you going to do?" However, most major stores do have these locations, and we should use them. If we do not, we are just being lazy.

What do you think?

Have a magical (and non-lazy) day!

I Got a New Book

The title says it all, I got a new book. One of the presents I received for my birthday was a book that I have had my eye on for a while, "A Slobbering Love Affair: the True (and Pathetic) Story of the Torrid Romance between Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media." Yes that is the real title. It was written by Bernard Goldberg, a former CBS News corespondent, who now makes a living attacking the main stream media. I find him quite entertaining, and I agree with what he says most of the time.

Back to the book. The title says it all, as it recounts how "The Anointed One" (President Obama) sent a thrill up NBC's Chris Matthew's leg and how the media helped Obama secure the Democratic nomination and the presidency. While I have not read the book yet, it does not seem to attack our President, but rather attack the so called "journalists" who helped get him elected.

It looks like it will be a good read. I will let you know my opinion though when I finish the book.

Thanks for stopping buy, and a have a magical day!

My Birthday Weekend

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. This past Friday was my 20th birthday, so instead of going to Festival International, I did absolutely nothing. Well, on Friday I did go eat dinner with friends at Tokyo Live, which was a lot of fun and very good. Other than that night though I didn't do anything that I actually needed to get done such as school work and other projects I have to finish up before I head down to Florida for the summer.

Speaking of Florida, I found out that I will most likely be working at Epcot this summer. That is very exciting, because the park has very consistent hours compared to all of the others. It closes at 9:00 PM every night, except Tuesday and Thursday when it closes at midnight, which is still early compared to my 3:00 in the morning hours at Magic Kingdom last fall. Also I like all of the attractions, there so I don't care where I work.

This is my last week of classes, then next week is finals. Fun. I am ready to take them and get them over with.

Anyway, hope you have a great week, and thanks for stopping by.

Have a Magical Day!

Space Mountain

Whenever I go to the Magic Kingdom the only place I run to right away is Space Mountain (except for Thunder Mountain when I am running late for work). The one ride that I used to be terrified of is now one of my all time favorites. Perhaps I like it because you never know what is coming next since the entire ride takes place in the dark, or maybe because it has no big drops. Although having ridden it with the lights on, I do think that version is scarier simply because you can see just how close you are to hitting your head on the track beams. Word of advice: NEVER stick your arms up while riding Space Mountain unless you want to lose a hand or two.

Why am I writing about this you may ask? No reason in particular, except that it hit me the other day that while working for Mickey Mouse this summer I will not get the chance to ride it. You see the mountain closed this past weekend and will not be reopening till the end of November at the latest. Space Mountain is receiving some much needed TLC, I am not sure what they are doing exactly, but I do no know the longer they stay closed, the better the final product will be. I hope that when it reopens it will be similar to Space Mountain at Disneyland in California which is a much smoother ride and also has better special effects.
What will I run to now, I am not sure but I know what it will not be: It's a Small World. I still have the song stuck in my head and I worked nowhere near there. I even had a friend get sick on that ride.

Thanks for reading, have a magical day!

Blogging Resumes

So after a two week absences, I am back. I will let you decide if that's a good thing or not. I report, you decide, I'm like Fox News.

Spring Break was...not long enough. As usual I had a list of things to do, and none of them got accomplished. Yay for procrastination! One of the things on the list, blog more, and we see how that turned out. Anyway the good news is that school is almost over for the semester, that is what's great about Easter coming late.

I have to say that the Semester did seem to fly by. Now I just have to get through the most unmagical time of the year, finals. After that it is off to Disney World for the summer. It hopefully won't take too long to get used to dealing with thousands of stupid people everyday.

In the spirit of randomness, please enjoy the following random YouTube video I found showing what happens when nature calls.

Earthquake!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be on TV in the middle of an earthquake? I haven't, but I found a funny video of someone who was. Here is Kent Shockneck of KNBC-TV in Los Angeles in the middle of an earthquake, with commentary by David Letterman.

Adventureland

I love funny movies, if it was up to me that would be the only type of movies I watched, but my friends don't like to go see comedies with me, because apparently I laugh to much. Well, Sunday afternoon I went to see "Adventureland" which I had been wanting to see. I wanted to see it for several reasons, first since it was about people working at an amusement park (Something I am familiar with), and I figured it would be funny since Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader from SNL were in (2 of my favorite cast members). Their scenes were very funny, but all of their scenes were shown in the previews. All of the other scenes however were pretty boring and seemed to just never end. It could have been worse, but it was not what I expected.

Let's Talk Game Shows

In case you didn't know, I have a slight obbsession with game shows (not as much as I used to do though). Game Show Network and I used to be best friends until some people in my house felt it was no longer neccesary to pay for that channel. But anyway two tidbits I woudl like to pass along for those who care...
1.) One of my favorite game shows, might me be coming back to television - "The $25,000 Pyramid". CBS has decided to pull the plug on their soap opera "Guiding Light" and are looking for a replacement. CBS has expressed intrest in reviving the classic game show from the 1970s and 80s. A final decesion has not yet been made. Now if only "Card Sharks" and "Match Game" could come back.

2.) Today was one of my favorite days, April Fool's Day, and "The Price is Right" did not forget. Go watch the episode online to see what is probaly one of the best episodes in the Drew Carey era of televison's longest running game show.
